Hello, my name is Jim Poole. I have been the Assistant Director in the Admissions Office since July 2001.

Nashville is a town I proudly call home. Though my family and I did not live here for many years, we are certainly elated to be “home.” My wife, Debby, and I have three adult children. Thus, we have been through the university search on three different occasions. My background is as a pastor to students in the local church. I am a graduate from Belmont with a degree in Psychology and Health and Physical Education. I earned a master’s in religious education from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Fort Worth, Texas and a master’s in marriage and family counseling from the University of Mobile in Mobile, Alabama. I transitioned into higher education after 20 + years of as the Director of Student Activities at the University of Mobile where I supervised numerous other areas on campus.  Obviously students have been a part of my “calling” for many years. I am glad you have chosen to take the time to include Belmont in your college search. This is a university that values individuals, one where you can develop the character God has placed in you, one where you will be challenged academically and personally.  At Belmont you will be able to grow in all areas of your life. It would be my privilege to support you as you have questions concerning Belmont.
